Oh how happy we are without you!

Before Natalie there was Collin. What a joy to have Collin. Just like Tom and Annie wanted a boy!! They wanted two boys then a girl. In that order, so Tom could teach a boy about film and Annie could teach the other boy about dance and the girl would be their little angel! Everything was perfectly planed out. In 5 years they would try for another baby so they don’t deprive one of the love they deserve. Plus since the first baby came out perfectly healthy and a boy the next should be the same right? Wrong five years later they tried and had a girl.

Natalie doesn’t remember when she was born. Heck she doesn’t remember much besides the age of 5! But she does remember how disappointed and mean her parents were. Collin was 5 at the time. So he barely understood about Natalie. Just that she wasn’t what he was(a boy) and she was smaller than him. Natalie was constantly yelled at for crying and hit over and over again.

Toddler years went by slowly. Natalie had learned that if she cried she was punished. If she disobeyed she was punished. She didn’t know why. But she was so she just obeyed the rules set by her harsh parents. Collin was kind. When she was three he was eight and was able to understand sort of that Natalie was hurt a lot by his parents who offered him so much. It puzzled him. Natalie came from a rich family and home. But she never got luxuries more like the opposite. She had hand-me downs that were already chewed on and were worn. She never got much new stuff.

At the age of 4 Natalie got a sister. Fun right? Someone to play with!! Wrong! When the baby was born oh they joy, it was a girl!! Natalie’s parents saw it as God saying ‘sorry’ for not making Natalie a boy. So they named her Faith. The new baby Faith was from the start mean. She’d throw food at Natalie because their parents would hit Natalie with Faith around. So Faith learned to be mean to Natalie. Collin was 9 and he sometimes would scold Faith for throwing food but she wouldn’t listen much. She met her neighbor when she was 5. He was nice. His name was Jacob and he was Natalie’s best friend. Jacob was learning the guitar at the age of 7. So when he practiced Natalie would be there with him. Singing some made up lyrics to his tunes. That’s when she discovered she could sing and very well! Jacob and his parents were nice and would allow her to stay for dinner. She sang for them and the complimented her. So they called Natalie’s parents she was shinning with happiness. Her thoughts were if her parents knew they would praise her! Wrong they listened without emotion and said they had heard better.

Natalie and Jacob were like brother and sister. When Collin was 15 he was busy with his girlfriends, homework, after school junk. So Jacob was there to be like her older brother. He was a year older than Natalie. Most rich people want their children at the top so they go to school a year early. So Natalie and Jacob were in the same grade and class. Natalie started building a crush on Jacob. He was cute, nice, and talented. He could play the guitar and he played multiple sports. Natalie had an amazing voice and Jacob was killer at the guitar so usually on Jacob’s porch they’d play. Jacob had a good voice so he did guitar and back up voice and Natalie would sing. The talent show cam up and Natalie had no intentions of entering. At school she was nothing. Jacob was the head of the heap. He wanted to enter and many girls wanted to enter with him to sing to his guitar but he denied every girl. So they entered singing themselves to prove to Jacob they were awesome. Natalie got a good laugh out of the stories. One day while they were playing the song ‘Obsessed’ by Mariah Carey, Jacob said told her to enter with him. She didn’t know how to respond. So she just agreed. What’s the harm? They entered the song ‘What a Girl Wants’ by Christina Aguilera. They won. Plus the music teacher gave Natalie some lessons.

At her sixteen birthday she got a sweet surprise of a car from her parents. Late to figure out was that they wanted her gone. But oh well. He had a car!! Jacob and her would drive around and laugh. One day Jacob moved away. She was sad like crazy. She was falling in love with Jacob be he was gone. By the time she was 12 she learned she was different. She could see Jacob’s thoughts and change them to think of her. She could walk in her enemy’s dreams and haunt them. She loved it. She didn’t tell Jacob afraid he’d be mad at her. For making him think of her. She wanted to tell him before he left but people always crowded him. Then he left. She decided to figure out about herself. Someone told her about a boarding school. Her parents were 100% for it and Faith was there waving good bye with her boyfriend wearing her typical slutty wear. She would miss Collin but she had to go and get away from her ‘family’.

I just said plainly, “Try telling that to my parents.” Jacob stopped laughing. He knew how touchy my parents were and how horrible they were. He just said quietly, “Please, Naterz! For me?” I don’t know what came over me. Maybe it was looking at him. I agreed. We couldn’t decide on a song. So we rambled though a few. Till we came up with one. “What a girl wants” by Christina Aguilera. We went over it a million times. That was the moment I knew I was falling deeper for Jacob.
